Business Unit:
Within Rexnord Power Transmission, we design, manufacture, market and service specified, highly engineered mechanical components worldwide used within complex systems where our customers’ reliability requirements and the cost of failure or downtime are extremely high. Planner analyzes material requirements by determining the quantity and date materials needed to support customer order want dates and to ensure optimal inventory levels. This role will do planning (dating the order), purchasing (outside processing), and managing inventory levels to ensure that appropriate amounts of materials are planned to complete a project and/ or customer demand. Work with a great manufacturing team.
Key Accountabilities:
- Assemble production orders with appropriate drawings and specifications
- Convert planned orders and release production orders timely
- Structure and release production orders to utilize material that is considered excess and obsolete
- Learn to read and understand production order exception messages in Rexnord’s MRP system
- Review production order shortages and work with purchasing if needed
- Pull components needed for top level production orders
- Assist with subcontract purchase order creation and follow up with expedites as needed
- Learn to review all sales orders in the backlog and communicate with Customer Service for orders that we will not ship on time
- Learn the products being manufactured and provide assistance with MRP functions
- Proficient user of Rexnord's SAP system for MRP/ERP functions
- Develop and utilize in-depth understanding of data required for generating accurate capacity charts
- Learn to resolve shop floor concerns and requests
- Other duties as required
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Operations/Supply Chain is preferred
- 2 years planning experience preferred
- Strong SAP knowledge and understanding and working knowledge of MRP and ERP
- Develop an understanding and working knowledge with bill of materials, routings, reading blueprints
- Good prioritization and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel
