Reyes Fleet Management (RFM) is an essential part of Reyes Holdings. RFM services and maintains the fleet of trucks and equipment for the Reyes Family of Businesses. We are one of the largest fleets in the United States, working within our business unit distribution centers across the nation. We partner with our internal customers in the areas of asset management, safety and compliance, and training. Our goal is to assist in the reduction of cost and risk throughout the Reyes Family of Businesses. In addition to our world-class support, we also manage Reyes Academy – a state-of-the-art training facility in Fredericksburg, Virginia that trains 600 professional drivers a year as well as transportation and other operations management.
Responsibilities
Reyes Fleet Management is seeking a Fleet Diesel Technician A to help with repairs and maintenance on trailer/tractor equipment at our facility shop in Enfield, CT.
Shift: Full-Time l 1st Shift Wednesday-Saturday -OFF Sunday-Tuesday!!!Pay: Based on experience/qualifications

Job Summary:
To assist with the running of the vehicle maintenance department in the Hemel DC and to also cover and manage the activities during the times of absence. Be able to work on your own initiative with a good understanding of vehicle maintenance tasks and carry out minor defect repairs. Ensure that our UCO collection equipment is maintained to a high standard. Assist in ensuring that the fleet meets the required compliance with all statutory and legislative requirements whilst balancing the business needs against the cost to meet budgets and delivery schedules. Reduce costs of repair and challenge the management and ensure costs are central.
Major duties & responsibilities:
- Management of contractors, ensuring work quality and cost effectiveness to meet the requirements of the operation
- The control of all maintenance and repair procedures and practices covering commercial vehicles
- Maintenance of all Health and Safety policies covering the use of equipment
- Advising and auditing Site Control procedures for the safe and legal operation of commercial vehicles
- To advise and support sites in the actions required to complete accident repairs to meet the requirements of insurers
- To assist in ensuring the full compliance of our O license
- Scheduling of all equipment for service or repairs
- Ensuring that the daily availability of equipment meets the operational needs
- Control of all maintenance invoices
- Raising and control of purchase orders
- Communication with suppliers to minimise equipment downtime
- Carrying out minor defect repairs
- Checking and agreeing defects
- Questioning and challenging suppliers over repair times and cost
- Cost centre budget control
- Monitoring compliance of Health & Safety by supplier’s staff when on site
- Maintain vehicle history files and ensure compliance with legislation
Qualifications
Profile:
- Previous experience within a fleet maintenance role
- Calm under pressure, with good activity planning and organisational skills
- Strong H&S awareness with a passion to improve performance in this area
- Track record of keeping to service and cost commitments
- Innovative approach, forward thinking, able to think ‘outside the box’ and generate new opportunities for improvement

- Previous experience in HGV mechanical maintenance
Technical Competencies:
- 3 years of related technical experience
- HGV class 1 licence (Desirable)
- Previous experience in Mechanical Engineering (Essential)
- City and Guilds qualification or equivalent (Desirable)
- Experience of Microsoft packages – Intermediate Level (Desirable)
- Awareness of all current and pending industry legislation and developments (Desirable)
