Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance Lead supports the Quality Assurance, Production, Maintenance, Warehouse managers and supervisors with the engagement of basic operations for the manufacturing plant. This position will be afforded developmental opportunities to learn about the key aspects of the business and participate in management skills training.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
Lead activities in partnership with manufacturing, maintenance, quality and warehouse teams (i.e., team meetings, shift exchanges, daily direction-setting, visual controls, status-at-a-glance boards, etc.) based on direction from department managers/supervisors
Work with Supervisors and Blenders to ensure appropriate rotation and scheduling of batches to minimize production impact
Assist with troubleshooting of issues with Qualitative equipment and Manufacturing process
Lead daily, weekly and/or monthly review processes to track and reinforce progress versus action plans with the team.
Learn how to use Lean tools to drive process improvement strategies in a manufacturing environment
Assist with process improvements for Making, Packing and Shipping, i.e., remove waste from the system and improve efficiencies.
Develop team building, communication and coaching skills in order to lead high performing teams in the future
Audit records whether physical or virtual to ensure compliance and adherence to standards
Perform standard testing of analytical equipment to provide input on accuracy, downtime issues, and offer solutions
Collaborate with department managers and supervisors on performance management, coaching and discipline
Partner with department manager and supervisors on daily walk-throughs of the manufacturing plant and warehouse
Conduct Gemba walk and manufacturing safety audits with department managers and supervisors.
Assist with preparation and distribution of reports and records, i.e., end of shift report, employees’ monthly and daily efficiency, production confirmations and observations
Other projects or duties as assigned.
