EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:
REYNOLDS ADVANCED MATERIALS –
CASTING & MOLD MAKING INSIDE SALES TECHNICIAN:

RAM is seeking a customer service-minded team member (aka: Inside Sales Technician) to help support operations in our store and showroom in Macungie, PA. This is not your average customer service gig – Inside Sales Techs are essential members of the RAM team and must balance several key responsibilities.

THE CREATIVE SIDE:
We sell our products to the most creative people on the planet – influencers, artists, builders, inventors, innovators, disruptors etc., – you will be helping these types of people on a daily basis (in person, via telephone, and via email). Inside Sales Techs must take ownership of learning about our mold-making & casting materials, modeling clay products, and more – how they work, what they are for, how to use them properly, and which products work best for different applications.

Inside Sales Techs guide customers through discovery conversations – getting details about the nature and goals of customers’ unique projects. After discovery, techs use their material knowledge and creative problem-solving skills to guide customers to the best materials for their project needs.

Inside Sales Techs are strong communicators, comfortable getting their hands dirty, and comfortable working with various personality types including artists, industrial artisans, engineers, medical personnel, teachers, students, and more. Techs also participate in material trainings seminars, college campus demonstrations, and local tradeshows.

THE BUSINESS SIDE:
Inside Sales Techs are part of a focused team and coordinate with the Branch Manager, Outside Sales Reps, and the National RAM Operations team to run day-to-day business operations.

Duties include:

  • Entering and managing customer orders
  • Inventory management

  • Assisting outside sales reps with product and lead support

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
:

Technical Assistance / Customer Service:

  • Use technical and artistic ability to experiment with products sold by the Company to create molds and castings for retail showroom display and instructive sales purposes.
  • The Inside Sales Technician must be knowledgeable of and proficient in the use of products sold by the company in order to answer technical questions for customers, in person and over the phone, and to provide product recommendations, advice, and support.
  • Assist instructing full day seminars covering the basics of mold making and casting as well as life casting and special effects in an onsite classroom environment.
  • Develop and conduct training for “Material Spotlights” that are open to the public for the purpose of discussing and demonstrating materials used for different applications.

Sales Support Activities:

  • Assist with setting sales goals, identifying measurable ways to achieve those goals, and tracking progress towards each goal.
  • Communicate weekly on sales activities, progress on goals, and status of prospective customers.
  • Support Outside Sales Representatives with product information, processes, techniques, competitive information, and physical demonstrations of molds and castings (as needed), to secure new business or to expand business at existing accounts.
  • Provide sales leads to Outside Sales Representatives using various resources, customer referrals, trade shows and other sources.
  • Occasionally visit local customers as needed to provide project related specialized material advice and support.
  • Demonstrate products to customers as appropriate to develop business and increase sales.
  • Participate in trade shows as needed to meet prospective customers and generate leads for all RAM branches.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

Inventory Control / Purchasing:

  • Must participate in monitoring inventory levels and generating purchase orders for the procurement of all products to ensure adequate supply and ensure that the frequency of drop shipments and back orders do not exceed company standards.
  • Assist in employing FIFO (first in, first out) inventory management to ensure proper rotation of inventory and minimizing the risk of inventory becoming outdated and unsellable.
  • Must be able to assist in the packaging of products for shipment in accordance with DOT and UPS regulations.
  • Assist with returning or re-distributing unsold products in a timely manner.
  • After 45 days of employment, demonstrate proficiency in using the Company’s custom software program for entering orders, checking pricing, tracking inventory, etc.

Warehouse / Showroom / Mold Room Maintenance:

  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe warehouse and assist in maintaining retail showroom.
  • Keeping the mold room/classroom clean and organized.
  • Installing/removing office and warehouse fixtures as needed (i.e. storage rack units, portable cubicle walls, office furniture, showroom display shelving).

Shipping and Receiving:

  • Assist Shipping/Receiving, as needed, with filling and shipping customer orders for safe transportation in accordance with DOT and UPS regulations.
  • Accurately prepare shipping labels utilizing UPS WorldShip.
  • Prepare Bills of Lading for outbound LTL shipments in accordance with DOT regulations.

College Initiative Program

  • Responsible for fulfilling ‘College Initiative Program’ requirements and submitting a bi-annual report to management. This includes demonstrating RAM products at local colleges and maintaining e-mail address database of college personnel.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must possess strong customer service skills.
  • Must have the desire and aptitude to work with products and be able demonstrate proficient use of the products.
  • Must be able to identify priorities, work independently, and exercise discretion and independent judgment to achieve business objectives.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Must be safety-minded.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree or 3-5 years’ experience in customer service position.
  • Must have experience in either mold-making and casting or other artistic/creative endeavors.
  • Must be able to lift 60 or more pounds.
  • Must be able to operate forklift.
  • Must have DOT/HazMat certification or be able to successfully complete certification process within 60 days of employment.
  • Must pass OSHA courses within 30 days of employment.
  • Computer literate; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Employment is contingent on:

  • Applicant’s consent to a background check to comply with a suitability determination from corporate management.[1]

  • Pass a Company provided drug test & physical
  • Valid Driver’s License or State ID
  • Clean driving record
  • Identification documents for I-9 verification
  • Copy of last diploma or transcript
  • Satisfactorily completing product training at Smooth-On, Inc.
  • Within three months of beginning employment, employee must demonstrate an aptitude, understanding and proficiency with products that the company sells relative to customer applications.
  • Maintaining working knowledge of products to impart accurate product technical assistance to customers for their applications.
