What are the responsibilities and job description for the VP, Head of Investment Data Solutions position at RGA?
As a member of the Investment Data & Systems team, the VP, Head of Investment Data Solutions is a data professional focusing on the architectural direction and solutions of the investment data strategy. As part of this role, this individual will work closely with the RGA Global IT team on new project initiatives including the development and implementation of data modeling, data integration, and data dissemination for investment data.
Responsibilities
- Oversee design, architecture, development, and strategic planning for RGA’s Investment Data Strategy.
- Responsible for leading department-wide business intelligence, analytics, data warehousing, and data management.
- Responsible for managing the delivery of data products which drive all aspects of RGA’s asset management functions.
- Lead a team of data engineers and data analysts in designing and developing solutions for Investment teams.
- Partner with senior leaders across the Investments and Technology departments to develop near and long-term business solutions.
- Leverage technology to optimize business processes, enhance communication, and manage risk.
- Evaluate, prototype and recommend emerging data technologies and platforms from either open source or new\existing vendors.
- Develop relationships and strategic alliances with external contacts and internal cross-functional areas.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- MBA graduate and 10 years relevant work experience OR Bachelor’s degree in technology, mathematics, engineering, IT, computer science or related field with 15 years of experience in asset management technology INCLUDING:
o 10 years’ experience as a liaison to IT as a system Product Owner
o 10 years’ experience with data solution architecture design and development
Preferred:
- Experience in Modern Data Architecture techniques and Cloud Data Technologies
- CFA or fixed income management experience
- Experience working with programming languages, i.e. Python, or C#/.Net and business intelligence technologies, i.e. Tableau, PowerBI, SSRS
- Experience working with relational or non-relational databases, i.e. Microsoft SQL Server, common data format and parsing methods, i.e. JSON, CSV, XML and data integration tools.
- Experience with Order Management Systems, i.e. Aladdin, Charles River, Bloomberg Buy-Side Solutions

The general pay range for this position is $173K-$213K base per year. Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement and other employee benefits.
