As a Spotfire Developer (aka, Business Intelligence Developer), you will have the opportunity to work on cross-functional teams to build, enhance, and support end-to-end data pipelines and visualizations in Rho’s private Azure Cloud and on premise systems. You’ll support a team capturing, transforming, and consuming data from multiple data sources leveraging a state-of-the-art data ecosystem where data products are visualized in Spotfire.  These visualizations are consumed internally and by external sponsors to gain insights into Clinical Study operations and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Design and create data visualizations in TIBCO Spotfire with strong knowledge/hands-on into IronPython, R and PLSQL, to satisfy identified and elaborated business needs captured in the form of user stories
  • Leverage technologies such as R, Iron Python, and JavaScript to extend the capabilities of the Spotfire platform to meet project objectives.
  • Collaborate with analysts and key stakeholders in design review sessions to refine and enhance data visualizations.
  • Develop design specifications, deployment plans, system manuals, and other technical documents for respective design activities.
  • Provide support for troubleshooting issues, offering workarounds, and creating patches for customers as needed.
  • Estimate the scope and time requirements for completing assigned tasks.
  • Deliver accurate and timely progress updates to project managers and/or team leads.
  • Under direct supervision, design, write, and perform unit testing of changes, including the development of test plans.
  • Collaborate with the documentation team to ensure that new functionality is properly documented.
  • Assist in creating design specifications and other technical documents.
  • Work with stakeholders to collect, interpret and translate business requirements into technical requirements
  • Ensure timely, high-quality deliverables, meeting project milestones and deadlines within budget with minimal supervision.
  • Support other team members in business applications, development technologies, or Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes, such as reviewing, designing, and testing.
  • Demonstrate excellent teamwork, oral and written communication skills.
  • Understand and clearly present client requirements to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Connect to data from diverse and complex sources like Clinical, finance, and operational datasets
  • Use strong problem-solving skills to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional team, building data pipelines, visualizations and other analytics solutions using Modern Data Architecture principles
  • Build CI/CD and DevOps automation to promote dashboards thru the environment 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree (relevant to Science, Statistics or Engineering) along with background in Life Sciences (CRO or Pharma), plus 1 years experience in building Spotfire dashboards and charts along with a strong understanding and knowledge of Spotfire design and development, including creating Information Links, configuring security, developing charts, implementing Iron Python scripts, and migrating Spotfire content; in-depth understanding of TIBCO Spotfire components, such as Spotfire visualization (data visualization), Spotfire Web Player, and other Spotfire processes; demonstrable experience using Spotfire as the primary tool for building customized and highly interactive dashboards; proficiency in extracting data from multiple sources, formatting, and normalizing to Spotfire data standards.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and databases, with the ability to create complex SQL queries, aggregate functions, and procedures independently, working experience or conceptual knowledge of BI, DWH, and ETL concepts and tools; solid understanding of Iron Python, R, HTML, and strong programming skills; knowledge in Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, ETL, Data Marts, and SQL; agile development practices such as Scrum, KanBan, SAFe, etc; experience with workflow orchestration platforms (Azure Data Factory, Apache Airflow); familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.); familiarity with version control systems such as Github and Bitbucket
