The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the organization of all project related activities and communications that will ensure the successful execution of all turnkey projects.
These projects can vary greatly in scope and magnitude; from a small single day maintenance style endeavor to large multi-million-dollar projects.
At the center of the project, will be the project schedule. This will be the marching orders for all project related activities and the guideline to ensure the project is proceeding as planned and timely. Gant charts are used to stay on task by both RSI and the customer.
The PM will be the chief conduit for communication from the customer and to the related parties within the company including any sub-contractors who have been assigned to carry out project activities. The PM will be responsible for keeping subcontractors to a strict schedule, ordering and invoicing all parts/components for the job, quality control, as well as ensuring all product is accounted for and received timely. This may include packaging, shipping and invoicing. Timely invoicing of the client, per the Proposal, will be necessary to ensure that cash flow is adequately maintained during the course of the Project.
The Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for the overall execution of the project.
In addition, this position will include organizing the production schedule to ensure the timely delivery of product to the field to support the installation schedule. The PM will report results and issues to Sr. Management on a regular basis taking every opportunity to avoid or minimize potential issues to the Project. The PM is expected to travel to the sub-contractors’ site on a regular basis to evaluate progress, maintain effective communication with the field staff and to customer’s sites to provide on-site field support and commissioning, if necessary.
The PM may at times be required to be “hands on” in the field in order to complete the task at hand. Familiarity with basic field maintenance techniques will be a benefit to the PM.
The Project Manager will also be responsible for working with sales for new and existing clients. PM will help determine client needs/desires to compose proposals for new leads. This entails being involved in meetings with sales and the client to analyze what is needed on new projects, cost estimates, coordinating with systems engineering to generating estimates/proposals associated with larger projects and keep the project moving
