What you’ll do:
PRESEASON
- Create pre-season sales, margin, and inventory plans by style and color by analyzing previous quarter results, noting lost sales, and identifying growth drivers over prior year using merchandising and market insights.
- Effectively communicate the style level buys as it relates to current trend and historical findings
- Summarize the opportunity and risk of a product plan as it relates to trend and financial metrics: initial mark-up, average unit retail, average unit cost, net margin dollars/rate
- Recommend style and color count as it relates to the topline forecast
- Develop the financial strategy associated with growth and diminish categories in quarterly investment review meetings
- Provide weekly updates on business as it relates to the buy plan; Identify trends and highlight programs that exceed or recede expectations
- Propose receipt chase and/or adjustments based on current selling to inventory relationships
- Prepare monthly core style sales and inventory forecasts; Provide sales trend opportunity for future quarters, validate stock-to-sales relationships, and maximize receipt flow to improve turn
- 4 years of merchandise planning experience; Additional related experience in allocation, merchandising, financial planning, strategy, or business analytics is a plus
- Wholesale experience preferred, but not required
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to take initiative to complete tasks
- Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to summarize business performance into key highlights with a pointed root cause and a “so what, now what” plan of action
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required,
- Experience with Domo or similar BI tools a plus
- Experience in an ERP system, Netsuite preferred
- Experience in a forecasting system, Singuli preferred but not required
