The Case Aide – Child & Family assists the Child and Family Unit with monitoring social services cases, provides transportation for clients and children, and supervises court ordered visitations for out of home placements. The Case Aide monitors visits, watches families interact and prepares un-biased case notes. This position is expected to intervene in situations when necessary to ensure safety. The Case Aide also performs miscellaneous support duties as requested by supervisors and social workers in the unit. Work is preformed while maintaining confidentiality and pursuant to all applicable state statutes.
- Supervises court ordered visitations for children in out of home placements.
- Provides transportation for child and/or parent clients to a variety of settings including treatment centers, detention centers, foster homes, medical appointments, schools and other places as needed.
- Assists child protection social workers with various typing and documentation requirements as directed by supervisor.
- Assists clients in preparing required forms and documents.
- Working with and supporting staff and supervisors in the unit.
- Document case notes in SSIS system.
- Attend required training sessions and meetings as directed.
- Respond to client inquiries by phone, in writing, and in person.
- Performs other duties as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
The job requires two years of formal training in a tech or associate degree, and minimum of one year of experience working with children in a professional capacity. A valid Driver's license required upon hire.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, and two years of supervised experience working within child protection or a related social services field within the last five years, first aid skills and CPR certification is preferred.
HIRING RANGE / UNION: $25.14- $26.34 per hour / SS Unit – Grade 8
HOURS: Full-time, 40 hours per week. General hours may range between 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with hours varying depending on client needs which may require evenings and rotating weekends.
