Job Description
The Senior Manager, Business Intelligence (BI) will be responsible for leading the development and deployment of a standard suite of forecast reports and KPIs and for driving innovative improvements to the way the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team uses data for reporting and analysis. The Senior Manager, Business Intelligence (BI) will work with business stakeholders across the organization to understand business requirements and apply technical and analytical knowledge to develop key financial and operational reports and dashboards.
The Senior Manager, Business Intelligence (BI) will be highly collaborative, working cross-functionally with teams across the company to identify opportunities for improvement, efficiency, and scale to deliver solutions through technology and processes. The immediate focus is the deployment of FP&A’s new planning and reporting solution.
The ideal candidate will own the definition and modeling of data and deliver self- service reports for Finance, Sales, Engineering and Operations departments. The Senior Manager, Business Intelligence (BI) will report directly to the Vice President of FP&A.
Job Duties
• Build and drive adoption of data visualization tools across the enterprise
• Lead deep dives into our existing systems, processes, and data to unlock business opportunities and functionality
• Responsible for design and delivery of solutions to integrate data from line of business applications into data warehouses and marts as well as the presentation of this data to end users using data visualization software
• Detailed profiling of source system databases to inform business rule cleansing operations
• Prepare documentation, including solution design, data dictionaries and release notes
• Work closely with the project team to understand the business requirements around existing and proposed processes and systems, developing effective working relationships
• Ensure that functionality is tasked, and effort estimated to enable effective planning and delivery
• Design and develop user friendly reports, dashboards, templates, visualizations, and scorecards that drive valuable insights for the business
• Build positive relationships with key partners in the commercial & IT organization, work multi-functionally to collect key requirements and achieve objectives
• Provide critical operational, performance, and regulatory analysis and reports
• Design, build and maintain a Data Warehouse
• Write SQL queries for Ad hoc analysis/reporting
• Provide application analysis and data modeling design to collect data for a centralized
data warehouse
• Create ETL packages and data transformation logic to load DWH tables
• Create SSRS reports, SSAS Cubes
• Coordinating a big number of one-time custom activities concerned with data collection, analysis, reconciliation, trends investigation
• Organizing the metrics and dashboards setup for various areas of the business using Tableau and other custom reporting tools
• Building long-term high-level forecasts for major financial metrics/Maintaining the model, monitoring trends compared to the model, and digging into issues
• Keeping track and managing high-level company KPIs
• Driving projects related to the design and development of automated decision-making systems for the business. Answering questions and suggesting improvements on the proprietary systems created earlier, such as Product-level Demand Forecasting, Net Margin calculations system, Lead Times calculation system, Automatic Pricing system, etc.
• Acting as a liaison between FP&A/Accounting and the Business reconciling financial and operational reports and KPIs
Functional/Technical Qualifications:
• Strong customer service focus
• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Accounting required
• Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Accounting preferred
• 6 years of experience with SQL server Business Intelligence tools SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, Tableau, PowerBI
• Deep understanding of SQL, relational databases & normalization, and data modeling
• Strong Tableau, TSQL, PowerBI, and SSRS experience is a must
• High-level competency in Excel, macros, pivot tables
• Experience with stored procedures and views in MS SQL Server, TSQL & ETL
• Experience deformalizing relational data (NoSQL -Cosmos Db / MongoDB)
• Expertise in Ad hoc T-SQL (Transact-SQL) query writing
• Experience with OLAP cubes
• Collaborating with business units in gathering requirements and data analytics
