Summary
The accountant will prepare financial reports to help determine company profits and losses and communicate findings to management. This individual will be responsible for the general ledger, job cost, bank reconciliations, accounts receivables/payables, and ensure payroll is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. The role involves the supervision of employees working as Purchasing Agents and Accounts Payables/Receivables. Additional responsibilities include performing monthly closings and maintenance of accounting files.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare customer billing.
Post receivables into company accounting software.
Oversee all aspects of payables.
Collect company data and record results.
Administer 401K plan
Maintain Cafeteria 125 plans.
Maintains and reviews payroll processing and accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and changes to payrates.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
Report actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing quoted cost to actual costs and reconcile any discrepancies.
Record cost information for use in controlling expenditures.
Review sales orders, purchase orders, scheduling, work in progress reports, and jobs prior to closing, and cost of goods sold; report discrepancies as they occur.
Process credit memos.
Review balance of Credit Lines.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with legal deadline regulations and guiding principles within the scope of responsibility and explain variances to owners, management, and CPA.
Ensure Trade Agreements are valid and current
Negotiate insurance contracts for General Liability and Commercial lines of insurance.
Supervise employees work performance who perform purchasing, accounts payables, account receivables, and other administrative responsibilities.
Evaluate, score, and conduct employee performance reviews.
Administer employee discipline in accordance with RMC's progressive disciplinary policy.
