JOB TITLE: Systems Analyst
FLSA: Exempt
240 days
Salary Range: $59,329.00 - $83.045.00
GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
Under limited supervision develops, implements, maintains and/or provides support for district-wide information systems. Primarily supports Munis the district’s ERP system. This position reports to the Coordinator of Application Support.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Facilitates requirements gathering sessions, conducts research and analysis, write data reports and produce data extractions.
Works on complex information system problems analyzing and evaluating current business methods and procedures for improvement.
Monitors systems for proper operation; provides professional user support as needed.
Delivers training to a variety of audiences.
Maintains the integrity and the functionality of business unit systems by performing system and database maintenance.
Write database queries and database reports for business end-users.
Analyzes problems and recommends solutions to ensure the production of the desired end product in the most efficient manner possible.
Works with IT partners, business function experts, and vendors on medium size projects to coordinate system enhancements or address system needs or concerns.
Develops documentation for custom applications and packaged applications, using a variety of mediums as needed.
Communicates new system functionality to department and assists users in understanding implications.
Has considerable understanding of current and emerging IT products, services, processes, and methodologies, along with a continuing understanding of the business function and process.
Participates in the development and management of project plans related to the application development initiatives, from project planning and design through testing, implementation and maintenance.
Has solid business and organizational skills, participate in both business and IT strategic planning and demonstrate leadership in the use of business analysis tools and methodologies.
Experience with MS Office suite, MS Project, MS Visio, MS SQL Server and SQL Reporting Services.
Experience with troubleshooting software applications to determine if it is software, hardware, network and/or data integration related.
Interacts and communicates with various groups and different levels of personnel.
Must have very strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a team environment.
Receives, reviews, prepares and/or submits various records and reports including user notes, programming requests, user instructions, computer reports, program documentation, memos, correspondence, etc.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Experience working in a school based environment.
Performs related duties as required.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Requires an Associate's degree in computer information systems supplemented by three to five years of computer system analysis, programming and maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Requires three to five years of experience supporting management information systems in a school-district environment, MS Office Suite, MS Project, Oracle, JavaScript, MS SQL Server, Server Reporting Services, and workflow processing.
PREFERRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems supplemented by three to five years of computer system analysis, and maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Requires five to seven years of experience supporting management information systems in a school-district environment, Munis, knowledge of human resources, payroll, budget, finance and procurement processing, planning projects, lifecycle application support and troubleshooting technical issues and technical support.
