Job Description: Cambridge City YMCA Y-Care Site Director

Job Title: Cambridge City YMCA Y-Care Site Director Department: Y-Care (Cambridge City)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Status: Full Time; Salaried

Reports to: Director of Child Care

Position Summary: Under the direction of the Child Care Director, the Y-Care Site Director will facilitate the operation of staff, programming, and children of Sugar Creek employees and the Western Wayne area. The Y-Care Site Director is responsible for helping to maintain a safe, clean, fun, Y-Care program site; ensuring a high level of program quality and working to establish a positive relationship with all program participants and their families. The Y-Care Site Director will provide a positive role model to youth within the philosophy of the
YMCA standards and expectations.

Essential Functions:

1. At all times, model, reinforce, and abide by the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and
Responsibility and the YMCA Code of Conduct.

2. Provide excellent service, creates a welcoming, caring and professional environment, and builds relationships with children, parents, and school administers/teachers

3. Meet children’s physical, emotional, and educational needs
4. Make parents feel welcome and comfortable in the program and maintain a good relationship with them, respecting different parenting styles, and social backgrounds. Keep parent relationships on a professional level.

5. Be a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and responsible individual committed to assisting the Y-Care to reach its goals.

6. Have an ability to interact and play with children.
7. Have an ability to follow a budget, make basic projected income/expense reports on projects.
8. Have an ability to connect with children and parents of diverse backgrounds.

Duties & Responsibilities
1. Supervise and execute the program based on YMCA and state standards.
2. Attend all meetings that are pertinent to this position including monthly staff meetings
3. Supervision (classroom time daily)
4. Create and/or oversee lesson/schedule planning for each room
5. Ensure the program is varied and of interest to the children
6. Create and oversee staff schedule and that proper room ratios will be met
7. Fill in the appropriate time sheets for payroll as required
8. Be familiar with and adhere to the Policies and Procedures as outlined in the Staff Manual
9. Maintain proper files, paperwork, and procedures according to State guidelines and regulations including CCDF, Paths to Quality, Voluntary Certification Program and State Registered Ministry
Guidelines.

10. Maintain the confidentiality of information obtained during professional dealings with the children and families

11. Maintain a healthy and hygienic environment (work with janitor and staff to ensure)

12. Administer First Aid and initiate the appropriate emergency response as required.

13. Ensures that any concerns, problems, or comments are communicated effectively to the Child Care
Director.

14. Nurtures and maintains relationships with all volunteers, students, and staff.
15. Works effectively with the rest of the staff team.
16. Develop and maintain open communication with team members, Y-staff, parents volunteers, and school staff and Director of Child Care
17. Work with attendance handling and billing of families
18. Handle additional tasks as they are needed

Experience/Educational Qualifications:

1. Associate's Degree preferred, Child Development Associate certified (CDA), or willing to be certified.
2. Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
3. Previous experience in child care is desired, including administrative skills and staff management.
6. Computer skills in word and excel, and knowledge of how to make basic flyers etc.

Training Qualifications (YMCA provides)

2. First Aid and CPR certification is up to date. (Annual)
3. TB TEST (Annual)
4. Child Abuse and Neglect, Safe Sleep, and Child Development training is up to date. (Plus a minimum 15 hours of continued professional training a year as required by state)
5. Satisfactory Criminal Reference check. (Fingerprinting)
6. Satisfactory Drug Test results.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $28,000.00 per year
