What are the responsibilities and job description for the Emergency Medicine Nocturnist position at RieLes Group?
RieLes Group is looking for an Emergency Medicine Nocturnist to join our team! If you are a Nocturnist interested in providing services in support of Veterans, then we’d love to chat with you. This opportunity is located at WBJ Dorn VA Medical Center Columbia, SC.
Specific duties may include but no limited to:
- Be present and on time for all scheduled shifts
- Direct patient care
- Evaluating, emergent treatment, and management of all patients
- Communicating test results with patients
- Provide discharge education to all patients with follow up instructions
- Shall follow and establish medication policies and procedures
- Shall initiate appreciate social worker referrals for all identified homeless veterans and for patients without primary care providers
- Review all admissions to inpatient hospital care recommended by Advanced Practice Provide
- Make sure all patients are stable before transferring to a medical facility
- Major procedures shall be performed at VAMC Emergency Department
- Dispatch and provide medical control for ambulances in accordance with the Dorn VA Medical Center procedures.
- Shall follow all established patient safety and infection control standards of care
- Patient documentation is completed using the current Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Shall refer all patient/customer service issues to the Emergency Department Supervisor (ED) and/or ED Nurse Manager or designee
- Shall document care given and select appropriate Evaluation and Management (E&M) procedure codes in the current EHR
- Shall participate in Quality Management/ Quality Assurance
Qualifications:
- Must have full, active, and unrestricted license in to practice medicine any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia
- Shall be Board Certified/ Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine
- Must have Emergency Department of 400 hours (within the last three (3) years) or a minimum of one (1) year of training/experience in an emergency medicine or primary care specialty.
- Current DEA Certificate
- Must have or obtain National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Must have current copies of Continuing Education (CME)/ Certified Education Unit (CEU)
- BLS and ACLS certified
- Must be able to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently to communicate with patients and staff
- Must be authorized to work in the Unites States
- Must comply with any mandatory health and immunization requirements
