Job Description

The Setup Technician position fulfills the companies need for all types of lawn & garden equipment to be setup or customized to the specification of the customer prior to being sold.

Attention to detail is critical because customers expectations are high when purchasing new equipment which includes their safety and our business reputation as a leader in the Outdoor Power Equipment market.

The position has four primary areas responsibilities which are :

  • Receiving of shipments from manufacturers
  • Unloading of trucks
  • Checking that the Bill of Lading matches shipments
  • Inspecting the offloaded equipment for shipping damage, bringing any to the drivers attention, and noting it on the Bill of Lading
  • Delivering Bills of Lading to the Store Manager
  • General set-up of inbound lawn & garden equipment
  • Uncrating equipment
  • Setting up equipment per the manufacturers specification and completing all forms required for a successful finished product that operates as designed and safely
  • Final preparation (cleaning, etc) so the equipment is showroom or outside display ready
  • Custom build of lawn & garden accessories
  • Installing baggers, mulch kits, and other add-ons to the basic machine
  • Build plows prior to installation
  • Lot Maintenance
  • Keeping the receiving area organized, clean, and safe for receiving equipment
  • Organizing unloaded equipment in a way that makes it efficient to access for setup
  • Keeping the covered storage areas clean and organized
  • Efficiently disposing of scrap wood and metal

As needed, the Setup Technician I assists the Setup Technician II on large equipment set-up and accessory builds so the jobs can be done safely.

This will also train in this position for a Setup Technician II when the opportunity arises.
