Summary of Responsibilities
The Assistant Controller is responsible for managing the day-to-day functions of the accounting department including financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable and cash flow management. He/she will assist the growth of the Company through process improvement initiatives, implementation and oversight of internal controls.
Essential Functions
- Manage the day-to-day finances of company, including accounts payable/ receivable, cash management and cash flow.
- Prepare reports for informed economic decisions.
- Assist in the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Participating in monthly balance sheet and P&L reviews.
- Maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value.
- Maintaining compliance with all federal, state, local, corporate, and other applicable taxes.
- Continuously working to streamline accounting cycle and time necessary to close each period.
- Being able to manage workload to meet deadlines, including the peak season demands of respective clients.
- Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA preferred.
- 5-10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, preferably in both a public and private accounting environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- High level of knowledge of Great Plains Dynamics General Ledger package are preferred.
- Operational accounting management experience, including overseeing monthly, quarterly and annual close processes.
- A track record of success in leading, managing, coaching and developing high performance teams.
