Job Overview

As a Staff Accountant, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of our financial processes. You'll be responsible for maintaining meticulous records, implementing robust internal controls, and preparing insightful financial reports and analyses for internal and external parties. Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting to safeguard assets, ensure compliance with regulations, and mitigate risks.
  • Audit Preparation: Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits, including providing reconciliations, documentation, explanations, and support as required.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions in the general ledger, ensuring proper classification and reconciliation of accounts.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis, trend analysis, and other ad hoc financial analyses to identify areas of improvement and inform business decisions.
  • Compliance: Stay updated on relevant accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practices.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including sales, operations, and IT, to ensure alignment of financial goals and objectives with overall business strategies.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist other members of the finance team in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
  • Perform additional ad-hoc projects as requested by Management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a SaaS or technology company and/or prior public accounting experience.
  • CPA certification or progress towards certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, accounting software (Intacct) is preferred, not required.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience with internal controls implementation and external audit preparation.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and draw meaningful insights.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
