Job Core Responsibilities
- Performs a range of routine mechanical and/or electromechanical testing of small parts or components in accordance with company instructions and procedures
- Reviews shop traveler route card, or schematic drawings to confirm correct sequence of operation
- Perform a variety of test to verify circuitry and to test effectiveness of components in amplifiers and electronic equipment.
- Receive parts or units from customers and troubleshoots circuits and components using schematic drawings and prints as a verifying check.
- Perform test and diagnostics using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DVM, signal generators, power meters, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, frequency counters and other related test equipment
- Sets up test equipment and tests per specification
- Performs troubleshooting and failure analysis of analog and digital circuitry malfunctions to the micro component level
- Provides detailed written failure description with root cause analysis to production and engineering
- Follows written and verbal instructions, adheres to all company guidelines, policies and procedures
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment, an acceptable safety record and follows company safety rules
- Other responsibilities as assigned
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Job Specifications
Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field
Years Experience: 2 years or more of relevant experience
Skills:
- Strong electrical background with understanding of microelectronics.
- Strong knowledge in testing, debugging and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies
- Good reading and comprehension skills to understand regulations and instructions
- Ability to analyze and determine methods and procedures
- Good oral and written communication skills and attention to detail
- Proficient Microsoft Windows software applications
Manufacturing / Non-Sedentary Requirements
Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office or warehouse environment.
Typically requires the ability to spend 66% hours each work day doing the following activities: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend or stoop. May have possible exposure to dust, may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 25 pounds 25% of the time and may require repetitive motions, pushing, pulling, and grasping with hands 25% - 75%.
