GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for development and implementation of all Human Resource activities. Maintains favorable labor relations. Implements Human Resource practices including policies, procedures, work instructions and programs. Work is guided by established company policy and quality requirements of both the Quality Management System and customer expectations. Work involves direction or supervision of other employees. Reports to the Vice President of Finance.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Position requires a minimum of 5 years' experience in Human Resources with strong communication and management abilities. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.

DUTIES:

  • Instruct, lead and manage the following disciplines: Human Resource Department and personnel.
  • Provides oversight of compliance with Rima’s policies and procedures related to the protection of Protected Health Information (PHI) and Federal and State regulations.
  • Develop and administer employee policies and carry out objectives and programs. Ensure shift coordinators and managers support and implement employee policies and procedures. Review and audit employee policies for current applicability and internal consistency annually at a minimum.
  • Create and implement training and development programs. Identify and prioritize training needs. Audit training programs and assure timeliness and effectiveness.
  • Assist managers with recruiting, selecting and placing qualified candidates when required.
  • Ensure understanding and compliance with government regulations as it relates to worker safety (OSHA) and employment practices.
  • Serve on the Wage Equity Committee. Develop, manage, and administer pay administration program. Conduct area wage survey. Monitor implementation of program
  • Serve on Managers’ Committee
  • Recruit, select, and place qualified candidates. Work with department heads to identify Human Resource needs. Identify qualified internal replacements for key company positions.
  • Provide cross training to department personnel.
  • Assure fair employment practices. Ensure company practices are consistent with state and federal employment statutes.
  • Lead the committee that maintains reviews and audits the Safety and Wellness programs to ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
  • Follow Management Systems procedures and work instructions.
  • Develop and maintain an internal procedure manual that reflects Rima policies and work rules
  • Maintain formal budgets for the department.
  • Administer the Worker’s Compensation program.
  • Develop, direct and administer benefit programs
  • Provide day-to-day employee relations, generalized HR services and performance counseling to client managers, department employees, and Officers
  • Support Plant Manager in the diagnosis of organizational problems, develop, and implement solutions
  • Provide leadership and guidance on employee safety issues at the facility
  • Establish and implement communication programs to increase employee engagement and morale
  • Implement programs related to human resources and employee relations as directed by the Officers
  • Provide training and development to managers and supervisors on policy, practices, and leadership skills
  • Annually monitor and maintain the employee’s total compensation package for economic competitiveness
  • Participate in formulating and administering company policies, procedures and work instructions including Management Systems and developing long range goals and objectives
  • Maintain and report on worker benefit programs that include but are not limited to healthcare, pension, life insurance and disability (long and short term)
  • Assist in maintaining safe practices for all employees
  • Communicate with and assist all departments as needed
  • Participate on cross functional teams as needed
  • Participate in Leadership training
  • Participate in the continuous improvement, research and recommendations for all operational processes
  • Maintain a clean, safe and efficient work environment by following the 5S principles
  • Annually review and revise the employee handbook
  • Complete all other specially assigned tasks or projects

  • Support production of profitable product
  • Responsible to maintain all employee benefits
  • Responsible for implementing strategy to foster a hi-performance culture across the company
  • Responsible for ensuring effective implementation of Rima training & development initiatives
  • Responsible for maintaining employee files
  • Responsible for ensuring top talent in all key Rima positions
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate structure/resources are in place to support short/long term business goals
  • Responsible for annually monitoring and maintaining the employees’ total compensation package for economic competitiveness
  • Responsible for managing the Health and Safety committee

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Typical office environment. However, employee will be exposed to the noise, fumes and temperature extremes typically found in a light manufacturing environment. Risk of injury from being in close proximity of operating machinery is possible, but unlikely if proper safety precautions are followed. Lifting requirements for this position dictate that the employee must be physically capable of lifting a minimum of 35# on a repetitive basis and a maximum of 50# on an occasional basis.
