We are currently seeking n Mechanical Engineer/ vehicle accident reconstructionist (VAR) with experience in automotive design, automotive maintenance, heavy vehicle inspections, engine failure analysis and collision scene inspections to support operations in our Dallas office. Responsibilities
In this role, you will do everything needed to determine what happened, how it happened, report your findings to the client, and sometimes testify to explain your findings. These responsibilities include:
- Conduct field investigations and perform failure/accident analysis involving various types of vehicles and mechanical equipment involved in accidents or incidents.
- Conduct vehicle accident reconstruction or failure analysis of mechanical equipment or components.
- Perform computer analysis and calculations.
- Provide timely and accurate technical findings in both verbal and written form.
- Assisting in promoting services and developing client relationships through the delivery of expertise-related presentations, attending industry-related events, and supporting the marketing staff as needed.
Qualifications
- MS in Mechanical Engineering preferred. BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
- Must have their P.E. and qualify for reciprocity in additional states as needed or ability to gain P.E. within one year.
- Vehicle accident reconstruction (VAR) experience preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must have strong technical writing skills.
- Must be outgoing and able to interact with staff, clients, and home/business owners.
- Must be able to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Must possess excellent verbal, communication skills and technical writing abilities.
- Must always respect your clients and co-workers.
- Must possess an open attitude and willingness to learn and develop skills as a forensic engineer.
- Physically able to climb ladders, walk on uneven and unleveled surfaces, enter and work in confined spaces, crawl under cars and trucks and other vehicles to inspect the damage.
- Perform duties that may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, or squatting for prolonged periods of time
- Must have detailed knowledge of automotive components and systems.
