Job Title: Loan Processing Specialist

Department: Loan Operations

Reports To: Loan Operations Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Grade: 8


Summary 

The Loan Processing Specialist is responsible for supporting the Commercial, Business, and Construction team in the sales, servicing and support of members and the loan portfolio. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. The employee is expected to perform other tasks, duties and trainings as dictated by their supervisor/manager.

Sales Duties

  • Accurately prepare and process loan approvals and closing documents, address and clear document deficiencies for loans. 
  • Primary point of contact for communication with business members during all stages of new loan process.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for on-boarding new business members into Loan Vantage, tracking for needed documentation for present and upcoming loan applications.
  • Ensures that all needed documentation is included in the loan packet prior to packet submission to Underwriting
  • Complete appraisal requests for bids and orders
  • Track commitment letter and transaction attached for completion 
  • Monitor for receipt of appraisals, environmental report, physical inspection reports, preliminary title report, credit report and other third party reports to ensure timely receipt

Servicing Duties

  • Maintain funding report in conjunction with servicing
  • Order all title binders, order flood certificate, check secretary of state website for good standing, check UCC filings, check county website for property/owner information, send invoices to be paid as needed
  • Enters in member relationship information and financial information into Symitar and/or Loan Vantage and maintains for updates as needed
  • Back-up for Servicing to process payments, draws and fundings as needed.

Support Duties

  • By being Subject Matter Expert on Loan Vantage and FICS to support training of staff for problem shooting and new hires.
  • Provide ongoing sales support to the Commercial, Construction LO’s, Business and Treasury Officers and VP of Specialty Services, including identifying additional sales and cross-selling opportunities (this would be achieved by reviewing personal financial statement, tax returns, bank statements, etc.)
  • Maintaining Annual Reviews; updating financials statements; ensuring credit files and Symitar/Loan Vantage systems are updated and properly documented; prepare files for annual portfolio reviews
  • Review title policies as received for accuracy; communicate with Title companies for edits as needed
  • Track commitment letter and transaction attached for completion

Member Service

  • Assists in any other areas as directed by the Senior Management and/or President/CEO.
  • Accurately identify all members using RGCU approved types of identification for all transactions. 
  • Completely and accurately obtain and input all CIP information for new accounts.
  • Properly update all necessary CIP information in the core processor for prime and joint members and customers on all accounts for all transactions.
  • Complete and scan all required Bank Secrecy Act business documentation such as but not limited to: the business account questionnaire and the Beneficial Ownership form.
  • Accurately perform OFAC during transactions such as but not limited to: opening new accounts; adding individuals to an account or shares; producing cashier’s checks or money orders; initiating wires, etc.
  • Ensure that all accounts, loans, and transactions are reviewed for the appropriate red flags.
  • Report all suspicious activity to the Risk Management department via the compliance group email.

Education and/or Experience                                                            

Experience- 6 months to 2 years related experience.

Education- 2-year degree or completion of a specialized course of study OR 2 years of related experience.

 

Language Skills                                                      

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.   Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Mathematical Skills                                                             

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Reasoning Ability                                                  

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills                                                     

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of ICIMS Human Resource systems preferred; ADP Payroll systems preferred; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
