We are looking for a Specialist – Network to provide support our Boron and Wilmington site infrastructure services /networks and communication to ensure minimal disruption to operational services. This includes trouble shooting and putting into place effective monitoring, eliminating single points of failure, and providing improvement initiatives.

Reporting to the Information Systems & Technology Production Site Support Superintendent within a challenging and exciting environment, you will be:

  • Support the Boron mine, Wilmington and Owens Lake Port Network and Communication environments:
  • Review tickets for trend analysis and improvements
  • Trouble shoot problems and provide solutions
  • Design new solutions and seek approval from Cyber and Architecture 
  • Validate the CI’s in RTTMS to ensure they reflect a true and up to date representation 
  • Perform Quality checks on operational/Project changes to ensure standards are adhered to
  • Put in place proactive monitoring across critical services
  • Manage and control critical spares
  • Ensure good housekeeping standards across network cabinets/cabling/labelling
  • Own the Communication Towers/Rooms ensuring equipment and services are within standards and coordinate any vendor maintenance
  • Identify risks and propose mitigations 
  • Provide input into the Roadmaps and capex plans
  • Meet regularly with key stakeholders on Life of Mine plan to proactively cater for comms changes 
  • Coordinate changes that require Mine services, Electrical or Engineering activities
  • Input into the DR plan ensuring service recovery has been correctly identified and tested
  • Provide root cause analysis for critical incidents and operations comms outages
  • Participate in outage issue resolution
  • Always promote and work within a safe environment, adhering to the site specific HSE processes and procedures
  • Manage the site specific HSE requirements when physical work is carried out during operational support ensuring responsible teams adhere to all HSE procedures and processes (CRM/JHA/Take 5’s/Pre-Shift meetings, Lean Meetings, Operational meetings)

What you’ll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Good negotiation and influencing skills, and confidence to operate at all levels of the business.
  • Ability to operate across culture and extract value from virtual teams dispersed globally.
  • Customer focus and strong understanding of business context
  • Degree qualified or higher in IT, (Cisco ICND, MCSE, CompTIA Network Certification) or related business degree
  • Wide breadth of business understanding, and knowledge of Infrastructure fit for purpose
  • Good experienced/knowledge across the Infrastructure domains
  • Must have skills, awareness and knowledge of the impacts of business decisions and changes.
