About the role
We are looking for a Logistics Analyst (Fixed-Term) to manage the day-to-day operational movement of products from Rio Tinto’s assets to customers and warehouses whilst, acting as an analytical back-up to the rest of the logistics operations team by identifying cost and process improvement opportunities.

Reporting to the Manager, Logistics Operations and working in a challenging and exciting environment, within the Logistics team, you will:
- Ensure shipments and payments are flowing in a timely manner to the customer
- Identify and actively seek methods to sustainably eliminate bottlenecks
- Provide operational support and assistance to logistics officers as required
- Develop business improvement ideas, participate in implementation and ensure the value delivered is being captured
- Drive improvement through data analytics and innovation
- Assist with development of tools/systems to automate reporting and measurement and monitor RTL value add/cost performance
- Interface with key stakeholders and other teams to gather transform, load and analyze data
- Identify opportunities to automate and optimize manual tasks and lead the implementation of new solutions
- Coordinate with Supply Chain & Sales & Marketing to ensure that sales and operations are fully aligned and that value is being generated at the interfaces (e.g. demurrage optimization)
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Bachelors degree in Logistics/Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Finance, Accounting or similar field
- More than 3 years of experience in a process improvement/business analytics role or operational role
- Good supply chain & logistics knowledge with an ability to generate ideas for improvement opportunities
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to draw conclusions and insights from incomplete data sets
- Drive to improve the business and identify opportunities
- Interpersonal, communication & negotiation skills
- Advanced Excel & PowerPoint skills
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Advanced data visualizations tools an asset (R, Power BI, Tableau)
