About the role

We are looking for aSenior Coordinatorto lead multiple contractor teams to safely and efficiently execute work within the RioTinto Kennecott mine. This role will be the designated leader and primary interface between RTK and the contractor leads and will be accountable for ensuring the contractor achieves acceptable levels of safety performance, productivity and schedule compliance.

This role is a great opportunity to implement your leadership skills while focusing on safe operations and executing a plan to deliver contactor safety and performance objectives. This role will work closely with the maintenance superintendent and provide recommendations on productivity and ensure communication is clear between departments and contractors. Reporting to the Superintendent of mobile maintenance, you will be:

  • Accountable for the safety of the shutdown contractor execution teams
  • Clearly communicate in advance the work scopes to the contractors selected to execute the work
  • Provide work packets to contractors including the list of required parts and stocking locations
  • Monitor schedule compliance
  • Validate status of work progress during and at the end of each shift
  • Facilitate shutdown review meetings and be prepared to comment on status of work in relation to schedule
  • Participate in leadership in the field and other KOPA-related contractor management activities
  • Manage contractor "white books" and update any risk assessments and contact information
  • Improve the work order management process for work order completion

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Mechanical, Metallurgical, Chemical and Industrial or related field or 5 years of proven leadership experience with experience in mobile equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to work in multi-functional and multi-disciplinary teams and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
