A Scheduler/Planner is responsible to effectively support drivers of our fast-paced organization. Planning the work week as production flows. Summary of Responsibilities:

• Take requests for all trucking types including refrigerated freight, lowboy, heavy haul, and fuel.
• Utilize tools to determine location of trucks and available customer loads; tailor planning to meet area needs. Understand daily capacity needs/opportunities and pro-actively communicate to appropriate leadership and drivers.
• Communicate late pickups and/or deliveries, as well as any other load changes, to appropriate department personnel.
• Communicate professionally, effectively, and timely with both internal and external customers/contacts.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet company demands and expectations.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• Degree in logistics or related field experience preferred but not required
• Advanced knowledge of FMCSA rules and regulations is a must.
• Knowledge of trucking operations, specifically geometric and physical properties for transporting them.
• Knowledge of time/distance geography.
• Understand and coordinate truck load planning.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Solid computer skills with the ability to learn and use a variety of computer software, including load board.
• Requires 2 years or more experience in the transportation industry.

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Manufacturing: 1 year (Preferred)
• Microsoft Excel: 1 year (Preferred)
