As our People & Culture (P&C) Specialist, you will provide partnerships for and collaboration on key business initiatives with our Rip City Management (RCM) part-time staff and leaders. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the core areas, including but not limited to employee relations, performance management, workers’ compensation, leave of absence, accommodations, and the interpretation and administration of policies and procedures.

 

 

DAY-TO-DAY: 

Relationship Building:

  • Build positive relationships across the organization that support your ability to influence outcomes that reflect inclusion and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Partner with members of the People & Impact team to ensure holistic support throughout the employee lifecycle and their experience within our organization.
  • Show support amongst part time event employees by walking around events, meeting and conversing with employees and reporting any employee concerns to the People & Culutre Partner.

Employee Relations:

  • Conduct intake for employee relations concerns and report findings back to the P&C Partner.
  • Monitor outstanding employee relation tasks and follow up with corresponding P&C team member to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Complete audits of peronnel files to ensure all documentation has been uploaded into Shared Drives as well as Employee Document Manager (EDM).
  • Collaborate with the P&C Partner to complete investigation summary reports for each employee relation investigation that is conducted. Ensure the report is uploaded to the corresponding personnel file.

HR Projects:

  • Take lead on project management for HR projects such as annual handbook review, policy reviews and regulatory compliance and retention.
  • Assist the P&C Partner in the development and implementation of personnel policies, process and procedures with an emphasis on proactive internal communications that provide clarity and key change management information to stakeholders and staff.

Onboarding and Offboarding

  • Manage offboarding process inclusive of conducting exit interviews, checking in with managers, and ensuring the employee has their information in regards to final pay and Disposition of Benefits. 
  • Aids with new hire pre-boarding and onboarding activities such as tracking of background checks, I9 verification, communications with hiring managers in addition to the new hire orientation process with appropriate cross-functional departments when needed. Process all terminations within UKG ensuring all supportive documentation is uploaded into employee file within a timely manner.

Administrative:

  • Report on themes from employee relations, exit interviews and onboarding check ins to the P&C team, quarterly.
  • Supports the Total Rewards Manager with the administration and execution of employee workers’ compensation claims, request for accommodations and leaves of absence for full-time, part-time fixed and part-time event-based staff. 
  • Assist the People & Culture Business Partner with cyclical organization and employee initiatives such as engagement survey administration/action planning, performance conversations and staff planning activities.
  • In partnership with the P&C Coordinator, ensure the P&C Suite 300 site stays up to date.

WE’D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university in a relevant field or possess an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Have 3-4 years of work experience within Human Resources with 1-3 years focused on employee relations.
  • Are detail-oriented, strive for accuracy, and organized.
  • Have advanced skills in Excel and database computer applications, with a preference for experience in Ultimate Software (UltiPro), ABI, and SharePoint.
  • Are adept at navigating systems and intranet sites for staff collaboration.
  • Exhibit a customer-focused mindset, with the ability to build welcoming and inclusive environments.
  • Are proactive in problem-solving with a determined attitude toward finding solutions.
  • Can effectively communicate with various individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Maintain the strictest level of confidentiality and express high standards of professionalism.
  • Are willing and able to work evenings, weekends, and flexible hours based on business demands.
