1st Shift - Production Worker

Purpose:

The Production Worker works as part of a team to mix, package, label, and/or prepare products for shipment. This position may also include scaling of ingredients, staging of batches, and cleaning of equipment

Job Responsibilities:

•    Responsibility includes the management of activities for the safety, integrity, legality and quality of our food products.

•    Follows all process instructions, procedures and formulas to ensure all final specs are met. Provides accurate recordkeeping of lot codes, batches and all required data.

•    Follows safety and security procedures and reports potentially unsafe conditions. Uses equipment and materials properly.

•    Follows and consistently makes every effort to improve GMPs.

•    Recognize and report any signs of product tampering.

•    Maintains cleanliness on line and 5S standards.  Equipment and work areas must be kept organized, clean and sanitary throughout the shift.  End of shift requires removal of any waste and garbage generated during the shift.  Ensures proper care of equipment.

•    Strives to continuously build knowledge and share with others.

•    Follows all safety procedures and participates in safety training. Maintains safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and person. Reports any injury, accident or unsafe condition immediately to supervisor.

•    Supports product safety, quality and legality.  

•    Operates a forklift and pallet jack in a safe manner according to company procedures and OSHA regulations.  Must pass forklift certification test.

•    Supports and complies with GMPs. Follows all food safety best practices to prevent allergen cross-contamination.

•    Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and skillfully gathers and analyzes information by developing alternative solutions.

•    Communicates and responds well to questions. Reacts well under pressure.

•    Contributes to a positive team spirit.

•    Participate in TPM initiatives. 

•    Follow all company policies and procedures.

•    Other duties as assigned

Skills/Work Experience:

•    Ability to read, speak and write English to assimilate, retain, and apply training and knowledge of job functions and recognize and communicate problems and recommended solutions.

•    Must be able to work well as part of a team.

•    Good computer, writing and analytical skills.

•    Strong attention to detail.

•    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 

•    Able to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.

•    Must be able to continuously lift or move 50 pounds.

•    Demonstrates excellent attendance and punctuality.

•    Must be able to wear a company-provided uniform.
