What are the responsibilities and job description for the Overhead 3rd Class Lineman position at River City Construction, Inc.?
Position Purpose:
Overhead 3rd Class Lineman is an entry level lineman position in the construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead electric distribution and service lines, transformers, meters, metering equipment, electrical substations, and related equipment. Other duties include climbing wood poles, ladders, and towers.
Responsibilities/Duties/Knowledge:
- Works safely while assisting in the new construction, maintenance, or repair work of energized and de-energized overhead work.
- Assist in the installation or removal of overhead conductors.
- Frame, install, or remove wood, steel, or concrete poles and supports.
- Assist with the installation or removal of capacitors, regulators, transformers, transformer banks, lightening arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear.
- Maintains company vehicles, equipment, rubber goods, PPE, and tools in good working order.
- Contribute to the development of and participate in the delivery of the Pre-Job Briefing.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle and feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 or more years of experience or graduate of Lineman School
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and acceptable driving record
- Able to read and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to travel and work for extended periods in various locations.
