Crisis Services and Diagnosis Center Director Full Time Macon, Georgia River Edge Behavioral Health is a Certified Community Service Board providing services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the State of Georgia.  We have partnered with the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities to provide crisis support and Mercer University to provide clinic services for Georgia’s individuals with developmental disabilities. Together, we believe in the dignity and well-being of every person we serve.  We are seeking a highly skilled Director of the Crisis Services for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities at Crisis Services and Diagnosis Center (CSDC) to lead and manage this state-of-the-art program.  This is a key and exciting role for an individual who has the drive and commitment to improve the lives of people with disabilities. The Director maintains high-quality programs in accordance with the guidelines, regulations, and standards of the Georgia DBHDD.  The Director is responsible for all operations of 16 beds, including compliance, growth and development, budget, and workforce development.   Job Description: Prioritizes a therapeutic program that takes a biopsychosocial approach to providing crisis support for individuals admitted. Collaborative approach to mufti-disciplinary medical, behavioral, and social fields to ensure holistic services are delivered. Meeting with on-site Supervisor teams about Strategic Planning, Budgeting, Productivity, Process Improvements, KPI’s and Quality Measures. Oversees the continued optimal functioning of the unit as well as the quality of the health care provided by all staff on the unit.  Promotes a supportive team environment that represents the mission, vision, and values of the agency and created a collaborative team approach to solving problems. Consistently promotes staff and patient satisfaction. Provide and experience that exceeds expectations and supports a respectful environment. Maintains safe and clean working environment by designing and implementing procedure, and guidelines. Measure accountability of on-site teams. Facilitate and Document Process Improvement Committee monthly meeting and present quarterly process improvement report to CQI team. Compiles Annual PIC report with tracking and trending as well as identifying areas of improvement with results. Facilitates unit leadership team meetings and contributes to team effort to manage unit and client concerns by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies and developing a plan of action to accomplish results. Maintains a cooperative relationship among unit disciplines by communicating information; responding to requests, building rapport, and ensuring implementation of program/skills groups is sustainable. Plan and participate in Unit meeting and communication of VPH and Acute Services updates and changes. Recommends, hires, trains, and evaluates performance of subordinate staff. Utilized coaching and involves subordinates in the identification and solution of program issues and the implementation of required program changes. May develop, implement, and evaluate in-service training for staff. Provides support to members of Leadership Team as needed. Collects and analyze programmatic data and outcomes to CQI and Audit Documentation Requirements as well as presents/participates in the monthly results at the monthly Medical Director’s Meeting. Supports grant applications for funding related to Acute Services. Oversees and/or completes performance evaluations of all CSU team members. Plans and reviews monthly budget as well as responsible for fiscal year budgeting with 5% of budget requirement balancing out resources for all Acute Services. Participates in scheduled monthly agency Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and Team Together meetings and ensures that information is communicated to unit staff as applicable. Responsible for oversight of recruitment, selecting, orienting, hiring, and training of all staff. Provides direct supervision to the Unit Leadership Management Team that includes Nurse Supervisor, Lead Behavior Analyst ASD, Unit Supervisor, Triage Supervisor/Payroll Specialist, Clinical Lead, onsite-Provider (as needed). Assures quality of care by developing and interpreting crisis stabilization policies and procedures measuring health outcomes against standards, making, or recommending adjustments. Provides support to leadership to ensure policies are followed and oversees ongoing policy updates. Maintains up to date knowledge of agency disciplinary policies and procedures. Provides timely coaching to staff that is documented and implements disciplinary actions as needed according to agency policies and procedures. Maintains up to date knowledge of departmental or facility-wide policy changes and ensures compliance with these policies within their department. Maintains up to date knowledge of Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) guidelines and Crisis Stabilization Standards. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending training and educational workshops and the Crisis Consortium Meeting as directed by supervisor. Provides feedback to Acute Services Director to improve the efficiency of the unit and staff. Responsible for preparing a monthly on-call leadership schedule and is available to unit staff for urgent issues after hours. This position provides 24-hour on-call coverage to the CSU. Reviews time records submitted by non-exempt subordinates for accuracy and completeness. Applies consistent standards for approval or denial of leave that comply with agency policies and procedures related to use of leave and suggested minimum balances. Regularly counsels’ employees who leave balances or leave us are below standard and/or take other appropriate disciplinary actions. Ensure that the pay information submitted to each employee is complete and accurate by verifying leave approvals and records of time worked. Promptly notifies the manager and/or the Human Resources office when salaried employees go off the payroll due to resignation or require pay adjustments for leave without pay or other issues. Complies with legal requirements and agency policies regarding timelines and documentation for Family Leave requests and other requests for leave of absence. Performance evaluations and PDA for leadership staff. Other duties as assigned.  Follows the Fair Labor Standards Act and all other legal and agency requirements regarding scheduling hours worked and granting of overtime for non-exempt subordinates. Maintain onsite quarterly meetings with the Medical Director of the Crisis Services Diagnostic Center- Outpatient Clinic.   Job Requirements: Must obtain and maintain certification through the National Association for the Dually Diagnosed. Position may require some local travel, must have own transportation. Must have valid Georgia driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy. Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting). Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens. Must be able to lift 5 pounds. Position requires long periods of sitting and standing.   Qualifications:  Master’s degree in a related area (social work, psychology, public health, etc.) from an accredited college or university AND licensure in assignment AND 5 years’ experience in the field of managing a behavior health and/or IDD program. of related post-license experience  Master’s degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND licensure in assignment AND 3 years of experience in the field of managing a behavioral health and/or IDD program.   Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral level degree in social work, psychology, public health, organizational leadership or a closely related field AND certification with the National Association for the Dually Diagnosed or related field of co-occurring diagnoses OR Doctoral level degree in related fields AND Licensure in the State of GA as a professional counselor, social worker, or marriage and family therapist. Experience serving individuals with developmental disabilities and/or co-occurring diagnoses. Experience working in/or managing in a healthcare setting. Experience serving as Director in a crisis setting.   Technical Competencies: Ethical Practices: We can adhere to DBHDD and the State of Georgia guidelines for ethical practices. Collaboration: Able to understand and interpret organization, state, and federal regulations, including professional development, safety training, and confidentiality policies, as required by DBHDD, and collaborate with other behavioral professionals. De-escalation Training: Ability to certify in the crisis prevention de-escalation methodology and provide training.  Certified trainers will also provide training to direct service and professional staff involved in the individual’s care to ensure consistency. Emotional Intelligence: Must be able to remain calm emotionally and physically and refrain from responding inappropriately to irritate or upset individuals or staff who may attempt to evoke a response (such as calling names, spitting, or verbal threats) Data Collection, Experience with severe and challenging behaviors.  Collect data on behaviors and analyze it to measure progress, make informed decisions, and adjust intervention strategies by supporting BCBA-D.   Working Conditions: Frequent local travel is required utilizing your own or River Edge vehicles. May be required to be on-call in cooperation with other management staff. Position requires long periods of sitting and standing. Frequent lifting (25 pounds), stretching, and other physical exertion may be required. May be exposed to various medical conditions and communicable diseases.   Schedule: This is a 24/7 facility. Although you will typically work an eight-hour shift Monday through Friday, this position may require work evenings, nights, and overnight shifts sometimes.    Pay: $95,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year With my signature below, I agree with the following: I have reviewed and understand the requirements and qualifications listed above.
