River Edge is looking to fill the position of Education and Employment Specialist with/at our InTune department. The primary responsibility of this position will be to develop contacts and partnerships with community businesses and leaders to provide a good match for clients and employers. In addition, this position provides education assistance to clients wanting to complete their high school education, obtain a college degree, or enhance their skills with continuing education.
In this role you will:
- Contact employers in the community who are hiring for positions to have a ready list of available jobs for clients within the program.
- Become well versed on the educational opportunities and associated processes from high school re-enrollment to GED and beyond.
- Assist with mock interviews and resume building.
- Transport clients in your personal vehicle to interviews/job fairs, community affairs and the needs of the client.
- Implements and organizes the delivery of specific social services within the community.
- Monitors clients' progress toward treatment goals.
- Implements skills training for recovery management, activities of daily living, and social/interpersonal skills as needed.
- Submit monthly report on client's employment and school status by the 5th of each month.
- Attend weekly meetings with Intune to staff clients and submit weekly updates to the supervisor.
You will need:
- Valid Driver's license with reliable transportation.
- Acceptable driving record/background check.
- Must pass a drug screen.
- Acceptable references.
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a social service-related field (social work, sociology, psychology, criminal justice).
- Covid-19 vaccination.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 6 months of job coaching experience.
