River Market Community Co-op is hiring Full Time and Part Time Deli Clerks!

Experience-based pay ranging from: $17.05 - $18.30 per hour

Learn valuable, transferable job skills in our Deli! Deli Clerks interact directly with customers, gaining experience in customer service. Deli Clerks build sandwiches, burritos, and other made-to-order items, learning to use a variety of kitchen tools and techniques, and mastering accuracy and time management. Union position

Reports to: Deli / Prepared Foods Manager

• Culinary experience appreciated but not required, training will be provided
• Greet and assist customers with placing and picking up orders.
• Prepare and execute daily production list.
• Assist with sanitizing and cleaning between customers.
• Follow all directions accurately and in accordance with established production guidelines.
• Work in an open, forward-facing kitchen.

Requirements

• Ability to multi-task, perform repeated bending, standing and reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds
• Must have weekend and evening availability
• Must be 18 years old to operate the slicer machine
• Performs basic arithmetic including counting, addition and subtraction
• Preferred experience in food service like deli, catering, restaurant
• Preferred experience serving customers
