Program Summary:
Birth & Beyond (B&B) Family Resource Center (FRC) provides services and activities that educate, develop skills and connect families to community resources. The FRC located in Sacramentos Oak Park community offers parenting workshops, home visitation, school readiness and crisis intervention services. Expecting parents, children and youth up to age 17 are welcome. Funding is provided by First 5 Sacramento.
The Family Resource Aide (FRA) is responsible for assisting the Family Resource Center Coordinator in the efficient operation of the Birth and Beyond (B&B) Family Resource Center (FRC). This may include but not limited to direct service activity as well as administrative and organizational support for the FRC Coordinator, Crisis Intervention Specialist, and other Supervisory positions.
Job Responsibilities:

Provide assistance, support, orientation and training to staff in data entry, paperwork and procedures

Provide assistance with scheduling and calendars

Assist and coordinate with program outreach, presentations, activities and community events

Developing and maintaining working relationships with community partners and service providers, including Child Protective Services, to be knowledgeable about existing resources and to provide appropriate and timely referrals for service

Assist families in crisis with resources and referrals

Be certified to facilitate trainings, workshops, groups, and/or parenting classes

Assist with play care involving active interaction with children

Coordinate transportation services for clients

Provide case management to Family Resource Center (FRC) families

Must be culturally competent and have the ability to understand, communicate with and effectively interact with families across all cultures and work with varying cultural beliefs

Complete other duties as assigned

Proficient with Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Maintain a variety of online recordkeeping and documentation processes and systems for assigned clinical program; ensure all relevant confidentiality and privacy requirements are met
Minimum Qualifications:
-
A high school diploma or GED is required.

B.A./B.S. in Psychology, Social Work, Child Development, or related field preferred
AND/OR
-
One (1) year prior experience working, community and/or social services is a preferred

Must be at least 21 years old

Posses a valid Driver License and Automobile Insurance

Proficient with Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Cultural awareness regarding race, ability, sexual orientation, gender identity and other social identities, with an existing ability to communicate and collaborate with people across lines of difference with respect and dignity

Bilingual in Spanish/English or Hmong/English is a plus

Provide linguistically and culturally sensitive care to promote the reduction of cultural barriers to all the community without bias
