WORKING HOURS: This is an hourly position. The incumbent is expected to work the necessary hours to meet the needs of a 24 hour establishment, must be flexible and available to work any shift, weekends and holidays as needed.
SUMMARY: The Facilities Technician I is the entry level class in the Facilities Engineering Series, under the direction of the Facilities Shift Supervisor and/or Managers. This classification performs a wide variety of unskilled and semi-skilled work in the installation, repair, maintenance, remodel and new construction of buildings, furnishing, and equipment. Learns and assists in the installation, operation, repair and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other components of the building trades, systems and equipment. Performs additional duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works under the general direction of the Facilities Shift Supervisor;
- Assist Facilities Technicians II and III with preventive maintenance tasks;
- Assists in inspecting buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify needed repair;
- Replaces light bulbs, lamps and tubes as needed, reports other electrical conditions requiring remedial action;
- Assist in the maintenance, repair, remodel ad new construction in the areas including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration and HVAC;
- Prepare surfaces and apply paint and other protective coatings including stains;
- Follows safety procedures related to building trades;
- Performs general manual labor task including loading, unloading, lifting and moving of materials;
- Monitors the facility and grounds as assigned to ensure cleanliness and proper aesthetics of the property;
- Ensure landscaped areas are kept free of weeds, trash and debris;
- Maintains all equipment needed for general maintenance duties;
- Completes Work Requests as assigned;
- Commits to the Team R.O.C.K. Philosophy;
- Acts as a role model and always present oneself as a credit to River Rock Casino and encourages others to do the same;
- Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, department and company policies and procedures;
- Attends all required meetings and trainings;
- Maintains confidentiality at all times;
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Any combination of education and experience that would provide an applicant with the skills, knowledge and abilities to perform the essential job duties listed above. An example of qualifying experience or education would be: one (1) year of work experience in the construction or building trades or basic coursework in industrial arts.

EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED required. Additional training in the building trades highly desirable.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are important to the successful conduct of this position.
- Must be able to speak with the public in a professional manner.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions furnished in writing, orally, or on diagrams.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Must possess a valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license from the Dry Creek Gaming Commission.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to maneuver around all areas of the casino.
- Must be able to work in uncomfortable, hot or cold environments, in awkward and cramped positions or on ladders.
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work in areas containing high noise levels.
- Must be able to lift up to seventy-five (75) pounds.
- Must have manual dexterity to operate hand and power tools.
- Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, twist and grip items.
- Must be able to respond to visual and audio cues.
