What are the responsibilities and job description for the Theatre Stage Technician / Stage Hand position at Riverside Center for the Performing Arts?
Riverside Center for the Performing Arts is currently hiring stage technicians for our upcoming productions. We are seeking highly motivated, reliable, and organized individuals. Stage technicians will work at the direction of our Technical Director and Production Stage Manager. Stage technicians are expected to be able to quickly and efficiently take direction, follow a provided track sheet, clearly communicate to the PSM issues from back stage, and maintain a professional work environment. Ideally, stage technicians are available from the technical rehearsals through to strike.
Job Duties:
- Moving and stowing sets / props / costumes before / during / after shows
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized wing space
- Stage and wing cleaning duties
- Communication with PSM during shows
- Assist with strike after closing
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or older
- Applicants should have at least a high school diploma or equivalent
- Applicants should have experience working in a theatre environment
- Be able to lift / move up to 50lbs
- Be able to spend extended amounts of time on your feet'

COVID-19 considerations:
In accordance with Virginia law, all unvaccinated employees, contractors, and guests must wear a mask while in the building. Distancing is encouraged. Pauses in production are possible in the even of a positive COVID-19 test.
