Summary:
- PhD in Clinical Psychology or professional doctorate degree with certification as a registered psychologist (able to perform independently)
- Prior experience in the rehabilitation inpatient setting preferred, with supervised clinical experience in the various treatment modalities
- 2 years of experience in the various treatment modalities 2 years of experience or supervised training in performing psychological testing, including neuropsychological and personality batteries
Responsibilities:
- Attends regularly scheduled staffing and case reviews.
- C onsultant to the physicians regarding advisability of and methods of psychological testing and to the administration of such tests to appropriate patients.
- C oordinates and supervises psychology students of accredited universities during their clinical practicum.
- C oordinates educational programs for Rehab Unit Staff, other hospital departments, and the community in coordination with the Rehab Unit Manager.
- I dentify, develop, implement and name psychological services consistent with the operating needs of the 4th Rehab unit.
- P rovide psychological testing and consultive service for inpatients and other psychiatric evaluation services upon consultation of staff physician orders. P rovides individual therapy for patients upon request of physician.

Blood and Body Fluids: Obtaining and transporting patients' body fluids. Cleaning patients who are incontinent of urine and/or stool. Controlling the agitated patients, such as scratches, human bites, etc. This potential exposure in reduced through the use of universal precautions.
TB or Airborne Pathogens: Minimal exposure. Usage of universal precautions minimize the risk.
Speech: Required to communicate with patient/families/staff/MD's.

MHU staff is required to assist with the control and transport of patients. Lifting of patients off their beds that are unable to move independently is done with assistive lifting equipment. Horizontal movement of patients to and from carts/beds who are unable to move independently is done with assistive lifting equipment. Carries linens for bedmaking and supplies weighing up to 10 lbs. for up to 100'. Filled laundry bags are filled half full so as not to weigh over 35#.
