The Riverside Research Engineering and Support Solutions (ESS) directorate conducts Research and Development (R&D) of cyber-physical attacks against embedded systems. As a Test Engineer III, you will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of research engineers and scientists on a range of microelectronics research projects. You must possess a strong knowledge of software defined radios (SDR) and be experienced in low-level coding techniques. As an experienced test engineer, you will utilize your advanced understanding from extensive hands-on experience with relevant test and measurement equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, etc). The position is in Dayton OH and requires a Top Secret security clearance (SCI Eligible). Remote work is not available for this position. Travel is not expected to exceed two to three times a year.

Conduct hands-on test and measurement activities and procedures for measuring RF signals and microelectronic components.
• Plan, validate, set-up, execute and maintain test environments with minimal direct supervision.
• Develop and deliver regression test plan and reports with minimal direct supervision.
• Document work, procedures, and findings clearly using your technical writing experience.
• Work effectively and productively in a collaborative team environment.
• Be accountable to team lead and Principal Investigator for reporting and managing assigned work plans, timelines, and deliverables.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Active DoD Top Secret (TS/SCI or SCI Eligible).
• Proficiency with planning, build, and maintenance of relevant test environments.
• Experience developing and delivering regression test plans and reports.
• Hands-on experience with relevant test and measurement equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, etc).
• Expert proficiency with soldering on microelectronics (through-hole and surface mount)
• Experience programming in C and Assembly for embedded microcontrollers.
• Ability to manage timelines, product delivery, product quality with minimal supervision.
• Able to work individually as a member of a multi-discipline team with minimal supervision.
• Willing to work in a secure US Government facility.
• Bachelor's degree in a EE or related technical area with 5 years relevant experience, a related technical Master's degree with 3 years relevant experience, or a PhD in a related technical area.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with GnuRadio or Redhawk.
• Technical writing experience.
• Python (preferred) or other scripting experience.
• Experience working in a secure US Government facility is desired.

$105,000 - $120,000 This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
