What You'll Do:
Client Care: Communicate with clients professionally and compassionately, educate them about procedures and costs, and ensure a smooth, informative experience.
Animal Handling: Safely and compassionately handle animals during exams and procedures, and provide tender care in all interactions.
Exam Room Assistance: Support veterinarians during examinations, prepare patients, gather lab samples, and ensure the efficient flow of appointments.
Lab Work & Radiographs: Perform routine in-house lab procedures, prepare specimens, and handle radiographs with precision and safety.
Veterinary & Surgical Procedures: Assist with routine and surgical procedures, including suture removals, bandage applications, and patient recovery.
Medication Preparation: Accurately prepare and dispense medications, maintain controlled drug logs, and ensure proper documentation.
Safety & Maintenance: Adhere to safety protocols, maintain cleanliness, and support the upkeep of medical equipment and facility areas.
What We're Looking For:
Experience: Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in a similar role with hands-on skills in patient care and surgical assistance.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of small animal care, veterinary procedures, and laboratory techniques.
Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to handle animals with care and follow protocols accurately.
Attitude: A positive, proactive approach with a team-oriented mindset. You should be ready to step in and support your colleagues whenever needed.
