Position Summary
The District Manager will oversee the day-to-day management of district-based operations. This position will achieve optimum labor and the least amount of overhead and resource costs for district-based operations. He/she is responsible for the maximum efficiency in design and output of processes and teams. They will be able to cope with conflict, stress and crisis situations through effective problem-solving and mediation skills. They will ensure deliverables and KPIs with established goals to operate at levels which meet customers' needs and established financial benchmarks. This position will direct activities so that approved deliverables are completed on schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Providing day-to-day leadership and management reflecting the core values of the company
- Managing Location Managers to ensure deliverables are achieved in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Driving operational locations to achieve profitability, quality and business goals and objectives
- Fostering a success-oriented, accountable environment within the Company
- Overseeing motor carrier recruitment for district-based operations
- Providing advice and assistance to top management in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of modifications to existing operations, systems, and procedures
- Adhering to annual operating budgets and providing fiscal direction to direct reports
- Ensuring standards for quality, client expectations, and operator performance are maintained, and that cost-effective technology and processes are used to maximize production; ensuring company resources are preserved; initiating recommendations on purchases of new equipment and improvements when necessary
- Ensuring deliverables are made according to needs, specifications, and quality standards
- Directing Location Managers on labor issues including safety, security, employee relations, scheduling, training, grievances, and the like; ensuring managers and supervisors comply with company policies and administering practices in fair and equitable manner
- Reviewing and interpreting financial and operating information as appropriate; coordinating and developing periodic financial and/or operating analyses
- Manage logistics services
- Performing other work-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 or more years of industry experience
- Knowledge of business management principles, practices, and procedures
- Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures
- Employee development and performance management skills
- Ability to complete work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner and to be conscientious about assignments
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company
- Ability to exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships
