Optician

Responsibilities:
- Assist customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses
- Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes and facial features
- Interpret prescriptions written by optometrists or ophthalmologists
- Educate customers on proper eyewear care and maintenance
- Adjust and repair eyeglasses as needed
- Maintain inventory of eyewear and order new stock as necessary
- Provide exceptional customer service and address any concerns or issues

Experience:
- Previous experience working as an optician preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to ophthalmology
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy practices
- Proficiency in retail math for pricing and sales transactions
- Understanding of anatomy as it relates to the eyes and visual system
- Experience with optical equipment and tools, including lensometers and pupilometers
- Ability to take accurate vital signs, such as blood pressure and pulse rate
- Familiarity with maintaining medical records

Skills:
- Strong sales skills to effectively communicate the benefits of different eyewear options to customers
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers and provide personalized recommendations
- Attention to detail to ensure precise measurements and fittings for optimal vision correction
- Problem-solving abilities to address customer concerns or technical issues with eyewear
- Organizational skills to manage inventory, order new stock, and maintain records accurately
