Position Summary

Facilitates the operative or other invasive procedure by preparing and providing the required sterile instruments, supplies and equipment. Maintains the sterile field and anticipates and responds to the needs of the surgical team.

This position provides care for or assistance to patients of all ages, including newborns, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and older adults.

Education And Experience

Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program; or 2 years of surgical scrub experience coupled with related clinical training (i.e. LPN, Military). CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) or associated professional certification preferred.

License/Certificates

American Heart Association BLS certification within 30 days of hire. If LPN, must maintain MN LPN license.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Performs scrub, second circulator, sterile processing, and supply duties under the supervision of the registered nurse in the area. Functions well with other team members and shows initiative and judgment in anticipating the needs of the team. Other duties may be assigned.
