We are currently seeking a Per Diem Life Engagement Facilitator (Activities assistant) with the potential of becoming permanent, to be part of our Healthcare Team. The ideal candidate will provide quality customer service with a positive attitude and commitment to teamwork while meeting the needs of residents, staff, and visitors. Experience in Activities in a setting that serves older adults with Alzheimer’s and dementia is highly desirable. Someone with skills in art, music, relaxation yoga/exercise, and crafts is a plus. Computer skills also preferred. The Life Engagement Facilitator’s primary purpose is to assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs, in accordance with the resident’s assessments and care plan, as directed by your supervisor/s.
The schedule for this position may vary, but will be at least two shifts per week, and will also require the flexibility to fill in as needed, which will include some weekends.

Responsibilities
Some key functions of the role include but are not limited to:
Encouraging residents to participate in activities, promote conversation with residents on a regular basis, routinely visit residents, conduct individual and/or group activities to promote the worth and self- esteem of the residents.
Observing and documenting resident attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement
Working with volunteers
Qualifications
High school diploma requires. Continued education in related field preferred, but not required.
At least 2 years experience in healthcare or related field or educational equivalent
CPR preferred, but not required
