Job Description
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT- Full Time
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Location: Canton
Reports to Director of Therapy
General Summary
Provides occupational therapy treatment to patients according to the established treatment plan under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist. Contributes to the development, implementation of, and progression of patient treatment and modifies treatment as necessary. Participates in patent care conferences and program development. Completes appropriate documentation and adheres to policies, procedures and current standards of clinical practice.

Completes appropriate documentation and adheres to policies, procedures and current standards of clinical practice.
Principle Responsibilities
1. Provides occupational therapy treatments consistent with the professional and ethical standards of the A.O.T.A. for the Occupational Therapist Assistant.
2. Legibly documents daily and weekly treatments provided in the patient medical record.
3. Coordinates with other disciplines for effective total patient care.
4. Assures delivery of quality care.
5. Participates in the discharge planning process to insure continued patient care as needed and provide patient and family instruction.
6. Performs all the duties and responsibilities of an OTA.
7. Contributes to a team philosophy within the department and the company and promotes the same among staff.
8. Delegates work assignments, responsibilities, and patients to support staff as needed.
9. Supervises students and volunteers.
10. Represents the Occupational Therapy Department to family, visitors, and personnel and attends care conferences as requested.
11. Effectively communicates with department staff, company personnel, patients and families and department head.
12. Secures equipment for patients and department supplies as needed.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.
14. May rotate to other facilities to meet productivity/patient care and other duties as required.

Qualifications
Education and Accreditation
- Successful completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Licensure as required by the State of Michigan
- Member of AOTA
