What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Enterprise Risk position at Rivian Automotive?
The Internal Audit Team enables our business leaders by delivering objective insight into Rivian’s risk management, governance, and internal control processes.
THIS IS WHAT YOU’LL DO:
The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Internal Audit Manager is a key member of Rivian’s Internal Audit team, addressing some of Rivian’s most significant and most complex risks. You will oversee the day-to-day governance and management necessary to identify, evaluate, mitigate, and monitor the company’s enterprise risk Assessment (ERA). You will assist Rivian in evolving and executing an ERA strategy, establishing ERA data/metrics and content collection, and validation process for various stakeholder groups.
- Facilitate Rivian’s enterprise risk management (ERM) strategy and framework, including assisting in building and implementing programs, projects, reporting, and risk assessments starting with the company first Enterprise Risk Assessment.
- Support the operationalization of a process to continuously assess key enterprise level risks and risk responses (e.g., key risk indicators and monitoring, internal controls, risk acceptance) for their impact to Rivian
- Prepare executive reporting of key risks and emerging/evolving risks in a clear and easy to understand manner that prompts appropriate business response
- Establish collaborative relationships with First and Second Line of Defense to ensure active engagement in the risk management process and identification of risks to Rivian; assist key business owners in the development, assessment and monitoring of mitigation plans for enterprise risks to ensure all risks are managed to an acceptable level
- Obtain an understanding of Rivian’s offerings and strategy and align risk assessments with business units and functional objectives to promote thinking about risk from both an operational and strategic perspective
- Develop and document of material and artifacts to support the ERM program and related activities
- Develop and provide ERM training and create awareness through regular ERM training material updates
- Keep up to date on regulatory rules, business activities, industry trends, and emerging risks and communicate relevant changes and developments to executive management
THIS IS WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree a plus in Accounting, , Business, Economics, Risk Management, or related field
- 6 years of work experience in risk management, auditing, or accounting; risk management certification a plus
- Experience managing complex GRC or systems involving interconnected systems and process with a focus on regulatory and risk requirements and standards
- Strong knowledge of ERM frameworks, risk technology platforms, governance risk and control tools, risk management process, risk appetite statements, key risk measures/indictors, risk assessment and review
- Prior experience building and/or managing ERM
- Proven experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives
- Strong communication skills, verbal and non-verbal
- Travel can be up to 25%, including domestic and international locations
