Role Summary
Rivian is looking for a Senior Lead, Executive & Equity Compensation. This role will be a valuable member of the Compensation Leadership Team partnering with our executive and HR teams to support our executive compensation program. Reporting to the Global Head of Broad-based and Executive Compensation, the ideal candidate will have a passion for executive compensation and be responsible for preparing proposals for Compensation Committee and Board approval.
In addition, this individual contributor role will have responsibility for our Equity Program. You will leverage your compensation program design, creativity, innovative thinking, and analytic capabilities to evolve our equity programs in addition to designing creative and innovative new programs. Our goal is to create scalable, sustainable, and equitable compensation programs that will attract and retain talent. The ideal candidate is someone who can provide guidance and expertise to executives and other partners while exercising independent judgment. As well, this person will have experience working in a global hyper-growth company.
Responsibilities
- Lead moderate to complex projects covering areas of executive and equity compensation and drive their delivery.
- Experience in SEC reporting, governance and regulations with experience supporting Proxy.
- Manage executive compensation communication plans.
- Assist in preparing materials for Compensation Committee Meetings, including competitive data and plan design alternatives and effects.
- Design, administer an evaluate equity programs to ensure effectiveness and that they achieve goals.
- Analyze jobs, salaries, and incentives to evaluate internal equity, external competitiveness, and legal compliance.
- Evaluate market data and provide consultation on new hire offers, retention bonuses, executive promotion recommendations, and severance, and change-in-control provisions.
- Consult with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition team, and Hiring Managers to create competitive offer packages for key strategic executive hires. Review executive offer packages to ensure competitiveness and compliance with governance guidelines.
- In collaboration with Legal, prepare executive compensation materials and documentation necessary for required filings, the annual proxy statement, and annual shareholder meeting.
- Partner with Finance on Executive Compensation and equity award budget, tax, and accounting issues.
- Participate in benchmarking forums, maintain Executive and Equity Compensation policies and procedures, and prepare compensation-related communications.
- Cross-train with other team members in all aspects of the Executive and Equity Compensation function to build internal knowledge
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree is an applicable field of study is required
- Demonstrated experience in Executive Compensation (consulting or corporate setting), with projects that cover annual and long-term incentive or Executive Compensation design
- Strong business acumen and credibility to liaise with and communicate effectively with all levels within the company
- Exceptional project management skills and can effectively balance competing priorities and drive key projects from concept to implementation.
- Proactive problem solver, driven to tackle new and interesting issues and build innovative solutions that push the status quo
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a commitment to accuracy, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to varying audiences.
- Excellent analytical skills, communication, and presentation skills
- Actively seek market intelligence and industry-specific data to obtain an in-depth understanding of the market and industry-specific compensation trends for functional roles and inform and recommend solutions to ensure compensation programs are industry aligned and best in class.

Pay Disclosure
Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $168,000 - $193,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
Salary Range for Colorado Based Applicants: $161,000 - $185,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
Salary Range for New York Based Applicants: $184,000 - $211,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
Salary Range for Washington Based Applicants: $168,000 - $193,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
