What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Inventory Control Clerk position at RJW Logistics?
Job Purpose: The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for conducting cycle counts and bin location audits, assisting in researching and reconciling inventory discrepancies and working with the Inventory Supervisor/Manager in any inventory related functions concerned with inventorying materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in stockroom, warehouse, or yard.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Performs physical counts of inventory items in order to maintain accurate inventory.
· Counts and reconciles randomly chosen or chosen part numbers and/or locations on a daily basis.
· Accurately inputs inventory control data to ensure inventory integrity.
· Completes necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on-time.
· Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
· Other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager
· Spends 80% or more of the workday performing inventory related activities in the warehouse using an RF Gun or Tablet. 20% or less of the workday is spent working at a computer terminal.
· Clerks are required to travel to and assist at other facilities as needed.
· Must have reliable transportation
Additional Responsibilities:
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
· Ensures compliance to inventory processes and procedures, and contractual obligations.
· Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
· Utilize computer terminal to properly account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 1-3 months related experience and/or training in Inventory Control.
· Minimum 1-3 months related experience and/or training in warehouse environment.
· Prior experience operating material handling equipment is required. Order selector, cherry picker/high lift experience is preferred, willingness to be certified and use is required.
· Experience using WMS software a plus (Synapse preferred).
· PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database.
Education and/or Experience Required:
· High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency.
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Ability to read and write emails.
· Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
· Forklift certification a plus.
