What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Engineer, Geotechnical position at RK&K?
As a Geotechnical Engineer at RK&K you will have the opportunity to work across disciplines to prepare plans and reports related to a variety of geotechnical projects for variety of clients in the transportation and municipal sectors; you will manage and supervise field investigations; develop design computations; and prepare geotechnical recommendations, contract plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates
Basic Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development geotechnical portion of proposals and subsurface exploration programs,
- Perform geotechnical analysis using approved software,
- Prepare bridge, roadway and retaining wall subsurface inventory and foundation recommendations reports
- Prepare retaining wall plans,
- Prepare foundations recommendations for other structures,
- Develop innovative design concepts related to Geotechnical Engineering
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
- Passion for client service and engineering
- Bachelors in Civil Engineering or related field of engineering
- 6-10 years of Geotechnical Design experience, NCDOT/SCDOT experience preferred
- Significant understanding of the following: gINT, LPile, APile, MSEW, FB-Pier, and GRLWEAP
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Knowledge of Microstation
- Professional Engineer License in NC or ability to obtain in 6 months
Preferred Education, Skills and Experience:
- MS or advanced degree in Civil Engineering
