Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Import Manager to oversee and manage our import operations. The Import Manager will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing the import process, ensuring timely delivery of goods, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations. This is a key role within our organization, requiring strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of supply chain management.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end import process, including coordinating with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers
- Ensure compliance with all import regulations and documentation requirements
- Monitor shipment schedules and proactively address any delays or issues
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize inventory levels and minimize lead times
- Continuously improve import processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and service providers
- Oversee the resolution of any import-related disputes or claims
- Provide regular reports on import activities, including performance metrics and cost analysis
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field
- Proven experience in import management, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Strong knowledge of supply chain principles and practices
- Familiarity with customs regulations and documentation requirements
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to optimize import processes
- Proficient in using supply chain management software and systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external partners
