As the Marketing Executive, specialising in events you will play an important role at the heart of the assessment marketing team, shaping and implementing strategic plans that support RM Assessment’s business objectives.
This role demands an experienced event marketer with a proven track record in developing and delivering innovative and effective marketing events. You will be able to engage with target markets and promote the RM Assessment brand identity at in house and industry events globally, both live and online. You must be at home with identifying and recording key metrics at events and using them to improve future events. You must be well organised, with an appetite for managing multiple activities at any one time. You must have the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders including internal experts, customer personnel, Sector Heads and Business Development Managers.

This individual will report to the Senior Marketing Manager as part of a Marketing team of 4-5 supporting all of RM Assessment’s marketing needs. They will look to the Senior Marketing Manager for day to day support and guidance in performing their role and for coaching in their professional development as a marketer. They will work with the Senior Marketing Manager and other marketers across the team to ensure that they have the resources, processes and wider business support in place to perform their job and deliver to targeted outcomes.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement events and events marketing plans:
- Collaborate with the Senior Marketing Manager, Sector Heads and Business Development Managers to develop events and events marketing plans that supports the wider marketing strategy.
- Understand the needs and trends of different market segments and produce and promote events for RM’s target proposition(s) at both RM and industry events, live and online, worldwide.
- Develop the RM Assessment webinar and live event series to generate leads and to promote the RM Assessment brand.
- Communicate plans and resource needs to the Senior Marketing Manager. Adapt if needed to ensure resources, processes and roles are effectively used in accordance with the overall marketing strategy defined by the Senior Marketing Manager.
Campaign Development and Execution:
- Create and manage marketing campaigns and initiatives to drive attendance at RM Assessment events and engagement at industry events.
- Aid in the development of strong relationships with key accounts that are defined as targets.
- Effectively use inbound/outbound channels as well as online and offline marketing tailored to the specific nature of the sector and target markets.
- Work with other specialists within the Marketing Team to ensure campaigns and messages are effectively promoted and supported through digital channels in alignment with the marketing strategy.
- Advise and support use of events and conferences to promote and engage target customers and sectors and demonstrate customer engagement and lead generation.
Sales Enablement:
- With the marketing team, work closely with sales teams to understand their needs and provide relevant marketing materials, content, and resources to support the account based marketing strategy.
Performance Analysis and Reporting:
- Track and analyse the effectiveness of channel marketing programs and campaigns, providing insights and recommendations for optimisation.
- Prepare regular reports and metrics for review with key stakeholders to measure and enhance the effectiveness of campaigns and other marketing activities.
Market Research and Competitor Analysis:
- Stay current with sector trends, priorities, and market dynamics to identify new opportunities and target areas for growth within events marketing and sales.
- Understand the competitor landscape. Review competitor activity at events as well as understanding their products, services and general marketing activities to ensure RM Assessment’s own offer remains a step ahead.
CRM system and account based marketing:
- Work with business development teams to ensure CRM systems and content are managed and maintained in line with best practice agreed across the business growth team.
- Maintain a disciplined approach to recording and managing all customer interactions from contact through to pipeline across the target market sectors.
- Make effective use of CRM systems to manage and measure the success of account based marketing activities, tracing lead generation, qualifying opportunities and highlighting opportunities within the Business growth team.
Experience
- Good Collaborator: You must be experienced at working with a marketing team to deliver on marketing goals together.
- Marketing planning: experience creating a marketing plans and strategies that deliver demonstrable customer engagement and business growth for a target sector.
- Qualifications: Professional, graduate or post graduate qualifications in Marketing (e.g. CIM), Business or Communications is desirable
- Marketing campaign development: Experience of developing and executing marketing activities from content marketing (from PR and thought leadership, blog, website, social media), digital advertising (search, social and re-marketing), direct email including use of marketing automation, direct mail, industry events and sponsorship
- Customer insight: working with qualitative and quantitative data to create marketing plans that address customer needs. Identifying gaps in market research knowledge and proposing solutions to fill those gaps.
- Reporting: comfortable analysing marketing activities and data to understand what worked (and what didn’t) and why
- Delegation, collaboration and understanding: using strong influencing skills to work with a variety of stakeholders (inside and outside RM) to understand the market and the proposition and creating innovative and engaging marketing approaches.
- Communication: professional, presentable, dependable and self-motivated. Excellent interpersonal and team working skills. Experience of building positive working relationships with senior leadership teams.
- Planning and organisation: excellent understanding of what is involved in developing a marketing plan – managing tasks simultaneously, accurately and according to priority.
- B2B experience: whilst a background in the assessment or edtech sectors is not a pre-requisite, a good understanding of using content and digital marketing as part of a B2B marketing funnel is essential.
- Driven: being brave in making sound recommendations based on fact and experience, with a focus on tangible results-orientated outcomes.
- Tenacious and self-motivated: someone who is curious, yet disciplined; who does not need to be told what to do but seeks to contribute; someone who is tenacious and looks for alternatives.
