Job Overview: The IT Technician plays a crucial role in managing and supporting the IT infrastructure within our restaurant locations and corporate office. They are responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of restaurant-specific and general office technology systems, providing technical support, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues. Their expertise in restaurant technology and network administration contributes to maximizing productivity and customer satisfaction in our restaurants.
Responsibilities:
· Install, configure, and maintain restaurant-specific hardware and software systems and other IT systems as required, including point-of-sale (POS) terminals, kitchen display systems (KDS), self-service kiosks, and other restaurant technology.
· Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and wireless access points, to ensure stable and secure connectivity.
· Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues related to restaurant technology systems, such as POS terminals, printers, scanners, ERP, and Office 365
· Manage and collaborate with vendors and service providers to address technical problems and escalate issues when necessary.
· Perform regular system maintenance tasks, including updates, patches, and backups, to ensure system stability and data integrity.
· Provide technical support to restaurant staff regarding hardware and software issues, assisting with problem diagnosis and resolution.
· Train restaurant and general office employees on the proper use of technology systems, ensuring they are equipped to utilize the available tools effectively.
· Respond to IT support tickets and service requests in a timely manner, maintaining accurate records of incidents and resolutions.
· Conduct regular inspections and audits of restaurants and other technology systems to identify and address potential vulnerabilities or areas for improvement.
· Collaborate with the Director of Operations to develop and implement IT policies, SOPs, and best practices specific to restaurant technology.
· Stay updated with emerging restaurant and general office technology trends and advancements, evaluating their potential impact on our operations.
· Assist in the planning and execution of technology-related projects, such as restaurant openings, system upgrades, or implementations.
· Handle IT issues that are time sensitive including emergencies outside of regular business hours as required, ensuring minimal disruption to restaurant operations.
· Adhere to security protocols and compliance requirements to protect sensitive customer and company data.
· Participate in the research, development, and implementation of restaurant technology systems and roadmaps to support business growth and new opportunities.
· Develop, test, and release program changes and new feature sets to Restaurant Technology systems.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
· Relevant certifications and extensive experience will also be considered.
· Proven experience as an IT technician, preferred in supporting restaurant technology systems and infrastructure.
· Knowledge of restaurant-specific technology, including POS systems, KDS, self-service kiosks, and payment devices.
· Proficiency in network administration and troubleshooting, including TCP/IP, DHCP,
· DNS, and VPN.
· Expertise in hardware and software troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving technical issues with POS terminals, printers, scanners, and other restaurant technology.
· Familiarity with operating systems (Windows) and software applications commonly used in restaurant environments.
· Familiarity with Office 365 suite
· Understanding of network security principles and best practices, data privacy, and protection.
· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to efficiently diagnose and resolve technical issues.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, effectively conveying technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused service environment, managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
· Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills, ensuring accurate documentation and timely task completion.
· Adaptability to changing technology and business needs, staying updated with industry trends and advancements.
· Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A , Network , or similar are highly desirable.
