Description
- Handles ductile iron parts weighting up to 40 pounds onto paint racks.
- Operates a powered tilter which provides the painter with easy access to parts.
- Keeps parts loaded on a moving paint line.
- Inspects baked, painted, and cured parts for quality. Drips and blotches are touched up or dipped as needed.
- Places dried parts in pre-assembled boxes and stacks and layers with packing materials.
- Uses quality procedures when operating the spray booth or paint line.
- Changes spray lines between color changes.
- Mixes spray paint based on quality procedures.
- Manually and visually inspects 100% of all painted parts.
- Checks quality of work in progress to pass audits while maintaining a continuous output.
- Completes and turns in accurate and legible daily production records documenting workstation rates.
- Possesses knowledge and application of quality requirements for all painted parts families.
- Performs maintenance activities such as removing castings from wash and rinse tank enclosure.
- Cleans, organizes and stocks materials per 5S and production requirements.
- Maintains and cleans spray guns and related equipment.
- Conducts air flow checks using manometer and records in logbook.
- Reports the need for equipment maintenance, repair and operating supplies.
- Performs quality checks on paint such as viscosity and film building and writing into log books.
- Checks wash and rinse tank pH and total acidity and records readings into logbooks.
- Shuts down (powers off) equipment as instructed, i.e., during breaks, process changes, and end of day.
- Applies common sense understanding when following oral and written instructions.
- Conducts general area and workstation housekeeping to maintain cleanliness and safety.
- Uses Lean Manufacturing principles to label and store inventory, materials, and tools.
- Performs rotational duties as assigned.
- Stores inventory and materials in neat and labeled areas consistent with 5S principles.
- Supports and participates in high performing teams.
- Participates in safety activities such as support for Suggestion Boards, Grass Root team projects, 5S projects, department ergonomic improvements.
- Works safely, follows the organizations safety rules and regulations, and assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 5 years foundry related experience (melt/mold) and/or training. Must be willing to complete all required formal and information training for this position within a specified length of time.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: At least 1 year experience as a fully-qualified Foundry 3. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency (according to quality and safety standards) in all established melt/mold job tasks, Must be willing to learn new job tasks. Forklift experience, certification required.
Other Skills and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal skills, computer proficiency, good verbal, reading and writing skills. Must be willing to work any shift in any production area (cross training in other departments is required). Energetic "can do" attitude.
Other Qualifications: Excellent attendance and disciplinary record.
